VOTE.

Just do it.

Do your research, make your choice, count your blessings, and cast your vote. We are incredibly fortunate to have this right.

Where liberty dwells, there is my country. [Benjamin Franklin]
Democracy is messy and slow. Our political climate is fractured and sometimes downright ugly. No one person or party has all the answers. And that's okay.

There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America. [William Jefferson Clinton]
I'd like to say that I don't care who you vote for, that it's just important for you to get your booty to your polling place. And that's partially true. Everyone has to vote by their own values.

Each man must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn't...To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and excusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country. [Mark Twain]
But for me, it comes down to who will look out for all of America -- the original melting pot, this vast nation of immigrants made of up different faiths, of different races, of different circumstance. I want a leader who will stand for better access to health care, for women in particular. One who seeks not to restrict the power of the federal government, but to use it appropriately (like during a massive economic crisis or natural disaster). One who will remember those who society sometimes forgets, those who truly need a safety net. I hope you vote for that candidate too, whoever you perceive him to be.

This country will not be a good place for any of us to live unless we make it a good place for all of us to live. [Theodore Roosevelt]
Our vote is our voice. Get out and make yourself heard today.

This, then, is the state of the union: free and restless, growing and full of hope. So it was in the beginning. So it shall always be, while God is willing, and we are strong enough to keep the faith. ~Lyndon B. Johnson
